God's Love In Words & Action
Several children from one of our fastest growing children's outreach in the area flocked to Humphrey Center to attend their weekly gathering. These children came in wearing their best smiles with an excitement to learn more about Jesus Christ and His Word. Our outreach leaders boldly share the love of God to the little ones as they allow God's love to flow through them. Energetic praise and worship is held and Bible stories are told about Jesus. A home-cooked meal, toys, clothing, and hygiene materials are given out. At the end of the day, we are convinced that the children are able to see God for who He really is - a Father who is loving, caring, faithful, compassionate, understanding, merciful and above all...REAL. The impact goes far beyond the lives of the children we minister to. Because of our outreach programs for children, many of their parents and friends accept Christ and begin to attend the Humphrey Center as a family. |
A McDonald's Treat
May 5, 2008 - While eating out in McDonalds on a regular basis is something normal for most of us, to some of the children from the slum areas of Amsic and Plaridel II consider it as something luxurious. The unique thing about this is that these children had never visit McDonalds before. Today, our visiting missionaries from the U.S. led by Pop Roy and Mom Ann Humphrey took 30 children from last Saturday's children's outreach to McDonald's and were given a Happy Meal to eat for the first time. The children's reaction was so much fun. On their way back to the center, our visiting missionaries gave out more goodies including toothbrushes & toothpaste. It is our prayer that we may all remember the little things we take for granted every day that the less fortunate may never receive. Thank you for helping us bring smiles and joy to these children. |
A Widow's New Home The months of June through November are the wet season for the Philippines, with over 60 inches of rain in that period. A great portion of the rainfall, humidity and cloudiness are due to the influence of typhoons. With this in mind, a widow's home renovation and construction commenced during a 9-day visit of Home and Abroad Ministries' President Roy Humphrey in 2008. Today, widows and their children are living in more safe and secure housing during the wet seasons, shielded by a strong roof from the tyranny of the coming typhoons. |

Water Well in Plaridel II Subdivision Waterborne diseases are a major cause of infectious disease in the Philippines including bacterial diarrhea, hepatitis A and typhoid fever. Clean water is difficult to obtain and some Filipinos must pay five to ten times in order to have clean water to use for their every day life. Through the remarkable support of our friends and partners, a water well was installed that benefits many families in the area. This particular well is 130 feet deep and took 4 days to compete. We show the love of God by supplying one of the most essential physical needs of the people in our community - clean water. These wells draw countless unbelievers to the nearby center, creating an opportunity for us to also meet their spiritual needs.
